Legal Adviser

Location:   Colchester Salary:   £18,000 per annum Closing Date:   02/03/2020

Contract: Fixed term (up to 12 months Maternity Cover), Full Time

Shifts are 7 hours per day, Monday to Friday, between 8am and 6pm.

Based at Wellington House, 90-92 Butt Road, Colchester, Essex, CO3 3DA

The Child Law Advice Service aims to provide legal information and advice to parents, carers and young people.

This is provided via free downloadable resources on our website and one to one legal advice with a Legal Adviser via the advice line or via email.

About the role

As a Legal Adviser, your primary role will be to:

  • Advise parents, carers and young people in the areas of Family, Child and Education law. You will join a team of experienced legal advisers responsible for providing legal advice via our low cost telephone helpline. Training will be provided.
  • You will also assist with the development of our website, ensure the content is accurate and where requested draft information pages
  • Represent the Child Law Advice Service and promote the work of the Service

The successful applicant will hold a law degree or relevant qualification in Child, Family or Education Law and ideally have experience of providing advice in a relevant field of law or in a customer service background.
