Coram is a children’s charity which draws upon a distinguished history and reputation for contemporary practice in creating better chances for children. With some 400 staff, a distinctive headquarters near King’s Cross and service delivery teams across England, Coram strives to be a credible, respectful, professional, dynamic and committed organisation where these values infuse all that we do to promote the welfare and rights of children.

Part of the Coram group, Coram Children's Legal Centre (CCLC) is the UK's leading children's legal charity. We are committed to promoting children's rights in the UK and worldwide within the context of UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the European Convention on Human Rights. We provide free legal information, advice and representation to children, young people, families and carers. We support, advise and train professionals who work with children and undertake consultancy on child law and children’s rights.

The Migrant Children’s Project at CCLC aims to realise the rights of children and young people who are affected by UK immigration control. We provide immigration and nationality legal advice to children, young people and families. We offer an email advice line, online legal information and training. We seek to change law and policy to better accord with children and young people’s rights.

About the role

This role will involve the provision of one-off legal immigration advice to migrant children, young people and families in London as part of a dedicated outreach programme which runs regular sessions at partner organisations and community groups. It would suit an immigration lawyer with experience of providing legal immigration advice to children, young people and families, who would like a short-term challenge with the opportunity to gain considerable experience supporting children, young people and families with diverse immigration, asylum and nationality advice needs, including the EU Settlement Scheme and advice on access to services and support. We are happy to consider part-time flexible arrangements, but the timings of certain outreach sessions are fixed.
