Family Support Worker

Coram is the UK’s first-ever children’s charity, founded by Thomas Coram in 1739 in London which today help’s children to feel safe and loved, and to access the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.We help some of the most vulnerable children to have better chances in life.

About the role

You will be responsible for providing parenting skills focused family support to individual families and carers, either in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis.Referrals to the project are usually made by social care and other agencies. You will facilitate accredited parenting programmes and provide advice or sign post families to other services as part of a support plan.

To be successful, you will have a minimum qualification of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in early years, health or social care or be able to demonstrate equivalent working knowledge in these areas. You will have significant experience of providing targeted early intervention and be practiced in multi-agency and partnership working. You will also have IT and communication skills as well as a willingness to be flexible and creative in approach to assist with the development of this exciting project. Use of a car is desirable.
