About Coram Beanstalk

Coram Beanstalk is a dynamic and expanding national children’s charity that recruits, trains and supports volunteers to work in education settings with children aged 3 to 13 who have fallen behind with their reading or are at risk of doing so. Coram Beanstalk volunteer reading helpers work with children on a one-to-one basis in an education settings environment, giving them their full attention and support to increase overall confidence, improve reading levels and inspire a lifelong love of reading. We require a number of interns to help with processing the 2018-2019 academic year Reading Records during August and September 2019. 

Purpose

Coram Beanstalk uses a variety of methods of capturing data on the progress of children who work with our trained reading helpers. One method is asking all trained reading helpers to complete a printed Reading Record at the beginning and end of their time with their children. We require a number of interns to help with entering all the data that we receive from Reading Records and analysing the data this summer.

Main Duties

The Data Entry Intern will be responsible for;

• Collating all information from the returned Reading Records

• Saving the data in a user-friendly format i.e. spreadsheets

Skills you will learn whilst in this Internship:

• Experience in the charity and education sector

• Working with systems in order to keep all data in one place and in an easily accessible format i.e. spreadsheets

Contract: Sessional, Temporary

  • Data Entry Intern's will have the opportunity to work between 20 - 35 hours per week.
