About Coram

Coram is committed to improving the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people.

We support children and young people from birth to independence, creating a change that lasts a lifetime.

Coram is the UK’s oldest children’s charity founded by Thomas Coram in London helping vulnerable children and young people since 1739. Today, the Coram group helps more than one million children, young people, families and professionals every year by providing access to the skills and opportunities they need to thrive. It has a long tradition of developing innovative services to benefit children who cannot live at home.

Parenting and Creative Services

Services offered within the Parenting and Creative Services include Art and Music Therapy, Therapeutic Parenting, Parenting Programmes and Therapeutic Life Story Work. Support to children and young people who are placed in families via foster care, adoption or Special Guardianship Order is offered by our clinicians and Coram is now the lead organisation for Ambitious for Adoption – a regional adoption agency (RAA) with several local authority partners. Partnerships work with local authorities also includes delivery of early intervention programmes for birth families and training for frontline workers supporting Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASCs). The team also work with children in special and other school contexts.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an enterprising Clinician with experience and skills in consultation, therapeutic interventions and capacity building with families and (the networks they operate in) to work in a creative way, within a multidisciplinary team.

The work will involve liaising with the wider Coram team and NHS/local authority partners to support the therapeutic needs of children and families – especially in the arena of adoption. Proven leadership and management skills are an advantage but not a necessity, although the post holder will be required to undertake supervision of staff.

Service Delivery will be ‘blended’ in type i.e. a mixture of web based and onsite from Coram’s London HQ.
